linen bedding.

photo via Pinterest
I'm curious - what's your favorite bedding?
My mom recently bought new ones, 100% cotton, but my favorite of all are the ones we have from earlier and it's 100% linen. It's warm and cozy to sleep in winter, but light and airy in summer - brilliant! The fabric is also very soft for your skin - I just love sleeping in it and if you want my advice - well, just try it, you'll get the trick the second you lie down:).

satellites of moon.

When I first moved into the appartment I‘m living now, I thought „God, no swallows live on the roof.“. And that was one of the reasons I didn‘t felt like home here. There are always some swallows living at my parents house roof. And I remember they were living at my grandparents as well: right under the main doors they had a nest and we were watching the little baby heads weaping when „the parents“ come back with the food for them. When you are a kid, such things look like miracles:).
I was fighting with the pigeons the half year (they want to make our balcony their territory. And I‘m like this.). Then I went to Germany, where from my window I could see some black birds (have no idea, what were these birds) and some dark squirrels (have no idea about it as well. Once I saw it climbing THE WALL. I‘ve just ignored what my eyes saw.).
And now I came back and it really felt like home. I think you really have to give time to be friends with your appartment. You have to have memories about it. Just like I remember sitting with my best friend in the balcony last summer and it was so cozy and fun. Or the time we were celebrating New Year and somebody got the make up on my WHITE wall. Or the time we were playing the board game with my friends, but the rules were so complicated that we had no idea what we were doing. So we end up laughing about it that if you want to end up the game and put it in the box – wait, you have to do it by the rules. You take the dice, only when you get 6, you can move your figure until it gets to the blue square, then you have to get a card, the third from these cards without numbers, etc etc.
But this morning I was having a breakfast in my balcony (after a fight with pigeons. They are good warriors, damn it.) and guess what? The swallows now lives in our house! Isn‘t it amazing?? I can‘t believe it. I mean, how do they choose where to live in? I always thought that if they were living in one house, they always get back in the same one. Well.. maybe they live where the good people live, haha.
Stranger and stranger, like madam Butterfly once said:).
Now it really feels like home when I hear them squawking by my windows. That sound is the sound of home for me.
And it is funny, how your thoughts come true. Have a sunny day and..well, be careful what you wish for:)!

P. S. haha, damn true!
P. S. P. S. oooh, I would love to have this tattoo!

goodbye Germany, high five!

And the day came to come back.
Goodbye Germany, high five!
You know, yesterday when we were in Munich (I promise to share the photos next week!) I understood how much I love doing stupid things (when I saw most of my photos), because I always laugh from stupid jokes (for example, this picture always makes me laugh:), I always tell stupid jokes mostly from movies or tv shows and if that wasn't enough, I'm the first to laugh at it.
But I can not change it, I'm too much enjoying it:) It's too deep in me (that's what she said, hahaha:).
Anyway, once again, one more goodbye, like the last time, remember?
Only now the goodbye is for coming back.
If it's possible to return. Is it? I don't know. But I'm going to find out.
I can't wait to go home!

P. S. hahaha:).

Have a fun weekend and see you in Lithuania,

[..] let me come home.

As I was writing the post about Salzburg, I understood that I never really did posted some photos from Lithuania.
And now as I miss it so much, I have to share something I found on my computer.
This was the summer in 2010 when I went with my parents and my grandmother to the castles of Panemunė (for lithuanian readers some more information here or here).
It is a road by the major river in Lithuania Nemunas and there are some ruins of the castles and mounds you can visit on this route.
Actually, in these photos you can see no ruins, because, well, I was too busy admiring the nature :).
But the truth is, the nature there is just breath-taking! This is the real beauty of Lithuania, the greeness and the sky all around you!
This is my Lithuania, which I carry on with me in my heart :).

how to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew?

photo via Jezebel
Recently I had a problem at home: I bought a bottle of wine, but I couldn't open it, because as I found out too late, my roommates don't have a wine corkscrew.
As I was sitting completely disapointed in my kitchen, I saw an umbrella hanging on a shelf and I remembered one evening when my sister and a friend of her opened the bottle of wine with.. yes, an umbrella!
It is really an amazing idea and it really works!
You just have to have a good tough umbrella, for example like in this photo and just push the cork into the bottle with the end of the umbrella while holding the bottle stable on the floor between your feet.
Voila!

hundred years of autumn.

Good afternoon, my darlings,
are you enjoying the autumn yet? It's the most wonderful time now, when the air is so crispy and sunny, the wind colors your cheeks red and makes you wanna drink hot wine with lemon in the outdoor cafe! It's magic.
My autumn here, in my hometown, just before I leave to Nuremberg, is just lovely. Here is the photo from my window - you see the yellow tree? Every year since 2005 I noticed that it's always the first to get colored - so it's always the first sign of autumn for me.
It is also the first thing I see in the morning and I love drinking coffee while admiring it and thinking about time passing by.
Because every autumn I look at this tree from my window and every autumn it looks so adorable!
So I couldn't help but wonder: do you have your sign for autumn? When do you realize it really came to your door? And most important of all - how many things do we have around us that tell us something?
Now I'm reading the book of
G. G. Marquez, Hundred years of solitude (that I always wanted to read - finally!) and I accidentally found a quote, which absolutely fitted this question: All things around us can talk if you know how to talk to them.
It's amazing how sometimes a book you're reading can give you the answers!
And so it is. But only if we look more closely, through the shadows of the past, you can find out, what they are telling you.
Have a nice autumn day, my lovelies!

Ak.
