presents.

As I told you before, my wonderful friends sent me these wonderful earings for my birthday!
I adore them! It's from La Seda shop in Berlin.
Now I want to wear them everyday!
I'm curious - do you wear the same accesories everyday? Or do you change them with your outfits? Or maybe you have some basic accesories like a watch and a ring? Hm?
I always want to have some basic accesories in my outfit, which I could wear everyday, like a bracelet and a watch, but I usually end up with changing everything everyday.
Sometimes I find it very annoying, but sometimes I'm happy to try something new and find new combinations that I didn't think about before :).
So check out your jewelry box and get some bling bling for this grey weather outside!

I've recently got a brown lipstick as a present and I was so curious, how will it fit me. It's such a surprising color for lips, but still I think this girl in the picture looks really lovely with it! What do you think? Would you wear it?

Christkindlesmarkt.

This weekend for the first time in my life I visited german Christkindlesmarkt! And it was absolutely stunning! Here are some photos, have a look!
Christmas spirit is all over Nürnberg - it's so amazing for me as long as we don't have any (yes, yes, german people, any!!!) Christmas fair in Lithuania!
And I found the entire stall for marzipan (you can see it in the last photo)!!! I love marzipan, so you can imagine, how happy I was!
We also tried different tastes of Küssen - you can see them in the photo of me and the girl from Slovakia :). It is made from wafer, cream and chocolate. We tried stracetella, egg liqueur and mint (which was called After Eight - just like the cholocate that I love! ) tastes and I should say that mint taste was the best (unfortunately, that wasn't mine).
But the most important thing - I've never seen so much Christmas things in one place! The decorations, the lights, the presents, the reindeer and Santa cookies, the Glühwein,..
My heart just melted! I love Christmas!

Today I read in the article, that my favourite lithuanian director, Arūnas Žebriūnas, got a national premium for whole life achievements! Congrats!
Remember this movie I posted about? It's his movie and I am really happy about our wonderful artists getting awarded.
I also always wanted to see this movie, called Gražuolė (Beauty or Belle in english) but I never get a chance, when it's on TV!
But someday I definately will see it.

Inspiration Monday.

photo via Pinterest
Hello, my sweets, hope you had a delicious weekend!
I've recently saw that I totally forgot about the Inspiration Mondays, that I was planning to make, so now I'm going to catch up with that!
And this Monday I'm not searching far away and I suggest you to get some inspiration from my lovely friend Justina, who just started her blog!
Take a look - love, you, food!
What a lovely description of the blog and what a yummy recipes!
I hope she's going to really work on it as she's a wonderful cooker!
Good luck, my cookie girl!

P. S. As long as I'm in Germany now, I must try to make this cheesecake!

Christmas-waiting is here!

photo via Pinterest
I can't help, but wonder - are you already waiting for Christmas??
As for me, one month is a bit too early to wait, but this weekend Christkindlesmarkt, a Christmas fair, starts here, in Nuremberg!
So I can't help it, I must get some Christmas spirit inside :)! We are going here tonight and, of course, I'll share some photos afterwards!
Have a cosy weekend, my lovelies!
xoxo,
Ak.
P. S. This guy is definately waiting for Christmas.
I think it is a piece with universal appeal and I’ll be happy if it makes people smile at Christmas time.

What a nice idea to share joy of Christmas!

good company.

Since I came here, to Germany for five months, I still can't really, with all my heart, enjoy my time here, because I miss my family and my friends so much.
And before coming here, I was thinking about it, I knew it's going to happen, but I was telling myself that new places, new people, new adventures will be so inspiring that it won't be that hard.
But now, I must say, although these new things are really inspiring, the heartache sometimes seems unbearable.
And at these moments I start asking myself - why I came here? What I was willing to find? The grass is always greener, isn't it?
But I really thought this new place will help me to find myself, to find some different parts of me that can't be reflected in my usual environment, when everything around me has some expectations on me.
And then the answer was given me:
There's no way of knowing for sure, where the safiest place is, so the best you can hope for is to have some good company.

Ak.
P. S. yes, that's me on the right :).

happy birthday, to me -

I must learn to love the fool in me--the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries. It alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled, masterful tyrant whom I also harbor and who would rob me of human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for my fool. ~ Theodore I. Rubin.

where good ideas come from?

I just love the lectures of Creativity & Design in Innovation Management that I am taking this semester here, in Germany!
The professor is so charismatic and always shows us something interesting!
Moreover, he wants us to dance to this song every lecture, haha! So we can be more relaxed and creative, he says.
This is the video he showed us on the first meeting - enjoy!
Maybe it's your missing piece somewhere :).
P. S. I  love the picture of Archimedes in the bathroom - such a good stereotype used, that ideas just pop into your mind like that, haha.

a midsummer's dream.

Just for this evening I want to go back to my summer!
Just give me books, fruit, French wine and fine weather and a little music out of doors, played by someone I do not know ~  J. Keats

P. S. This picture is taken last summer in Jurmala, Latvia. What a lovely beach, what a lovely weather and what a lovely book was in my hands that day!

Don't forget to warm up your hearts with summer memories (it's already November, you're allowed to do that) & have a sunny thursday, my lovelies!

When he looked into her dark eyes, and saw that her lips were poised between a laugh and silence, he learned the most important part of the language that all the world spoke – the language that everyone on earth was capable of understanding in their heart. It was love. Something older than humanity, more ancient than the desert. ~ Paulo Coelho

The Invite.

 photo via Pinterest
Have you heard about this Heineken beer opener? At that moment, when you open your beer, a messagge appears on your facebook profile!
A new student project proposes just that with ‘The Invite’, a fun new concept idea for Heineken—a social media-connected bottle opener that invites your friends over for a beer every time you open up a bottle.  And if you get enough friends to come over, you win a whole case of Heineken for next weekend!

How cool is that, ha??
Moreover, a perfect present for a guy, haha :).
P. S. Have you seen this ad of Heineken? It is the 5th best commercial of 2010-11, it's very charming!
You can see all the winners here. The third one is my favourite!
Also, beer Rein Beer for Christmas is another lovely idea!

Bamberg & Bayreuth.

Last weekend we had a trip to two Bavarian cities - Bamberg and Bayreuth. The most photos are from Bamberg - it's an incredibly charming city - take a look!
And also it is very interesting that Bamberg is one of the few cities in Germany that wasn't destroyed by World War II bombings because of a nearby Artillery Factory that prevented planes from getting near!
I recommend you to visit it yourself - it's absolutely lovely!

[..] and then while I'm away --

I love writing letters, but like every maniac, I like it more to receive! Perhaps it started when my lovely cousin moved out to Germany and we wanted to keep in touch with each other, so as years went by, we were writing longer and longer letters. I have all these letters at home - some are about 20 pages!! Can you imagine that?!? We were absolutely crazy about this idea, we spend hours writing about whatever comes into our minds - and these letters are just fascinating. They're full of dreams, full of some kind of excitement and sometimes when I read them again, I understand that I miss the positive energy that I used to have on things. But it's a good way to remind yourself, how positive I can be.
And here, in Nuremberg, once again, the first letter that I received was from my cousin :)! Adorable postcard from Malta, where she was on vacation. What a lovely coincidence!
And yesterday I received my future birthday card with a gift inside from my two best friends - the one, who lives in Berlin and the other one, who now lives in Bremen and was visiting her in Berlin. What a lovely surprise! There was absolutely adorable earings inside - can't wait to wear them!
I was overwhelmed, although my friend, who now is in Bremen, is always sooo impatient and enthusiastic, that she did already told me that I should recieve something in a couple of days! Haha, now I know she's still the same person I love :).
But not only receiving is important - receiving in life is always easier. Like the wonderful lithuanian actor told me on the interview  - when you write a letter, all this time, till the letter reaches the receiver, you think about that person, so you send something more than a letter to him - you are with this person in your thoughts. And it's all what it's about.
I send all my loving to you, my lovelies!

Ak.
P. S. I forgot to show you this song on my last post - from the far moon to the rings of Saturn, you're my brightest night that I've waited :).

While staying here, in Germany, somebody asked me, what kind of lithuanian music I would recommend to listen, so now I've decided to make a list. Here it is:
It was really really hard to find which songs to share and there are lots of others left - I definately have to share it someday! And I will.
Enjoy these ones!
xoxo,
Ak.
P. S. This song is one of my favorite and the video is so amazing, it is the captures of "Unseen Lithuania" series.
