autumn memories: Trakai.

As I didn't make some photos from our trip last weekend, I've searched my computer for some old ones and I have to say - I have tons of photos I haven't shared yet. 

Here's what I've found - some beautiful photos from the trip to one of the most wonderful towns in Lithuania, Trakai. I was there with my parents and my sister last September celebrating her birthday.

Do you have a secret for keeping your hair silky and shiny?

Recently one of my friends asked me about hair conditioner and later I remembered that my hairdresser once asked me as well, how I keep my hair so healthy and shiny.

Yes, I use the conditioner, but that's not the trick:).

The thing is, I always have two shampoos and every time I wash my hair I use the different one. And sometimes (usually every second time) I use the conditioner or I have two of them as well.

I think it's the same thing like with the toothpaste - you can't get the tooth used to one, you have to switch it from time to time. But well, for the hair, I switch it more often.

I'm curious - what's your secret?

What do you do, when you are afraid or just feel kind of awkward looking someone straight into the eyes?

My sister once told me (her teacher at school told the students this during one lesson), when you feel awkward to look straight into the eyes, you should look right in the spot between the eyes. In this way, it looks like you're looking into the eyes! I already tried it and the person can not tell the difference, when you really look into the eyes or when you look between the eyes.
That really helps, especially, when I find someone's eyes really confusing:).

how to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew?

Recently I had a problem at home: I bought a bottle of wine, but I couldn't open it, because as I found out too late, my roommates don't have a wine corkscrew.
As I was sitting completely disapointed in my kitchen, I saw an umbrella hanging on a shelf and I remembered one evening when my sister and a friend of her opened the bottle of wine with.. yes, an umbrella!
It is really an amazing idea and it really works!
You just have to have a good tough umbrella, for example like in this photo and just push the cork into the bottle with the end of the umbrella while holding the bottle stable on the floor between your feet.
Voila!

Good morning, my darlings,
as the weather is getting glum and the Monday is always not helping us to keep optimistic (take a look at these notecards - they're just adorable!), we must found our own ways to keep sunshine at our hearts.
I've recently read this blog article and today I'm going to share my own 5 tips to turn Monday frown upside down :). Here they are:

• take a break to have a big cup of creamy latte and the book, you're now reading - just 5 pages, you don't know what a difference it can make;
• go for a walk to a shop to buy your favorite chocolate or think of a one thing that you haven't eaten for so long just because you have forgotten about it;
• find some new music - the website All Music can show you some similar artists to those you like;
• cook something special for the evening - maybe a pie?
• write a letter to your friend - a lovely email about your last weekend counts as well.

The beauty of living is always in the details. Have a bright week!

plant lavender for luck.

Talking about luck, I remembered that I always wanted to plant a lavender at home. But not only to attract a good luck. :)
It's very beautiful & also has some powers of relaxing! If you put lavender seeds and flowers in pillow,  it will aid your sleep! Also an infusion of three flower-heads added to a cup of boiling water soothes and relaxes at bedtime. Flowers can be candied and are sometimes even used as cake decorations! How lovely is that, ha?
