[..] and that's that!

I think I will have to make a pause with blogging, because I have 6 (!!!!!) exams coming up, so not much life during the next three weeks (although I'm going to the theater on Thursday - but hey, I had to go, it was my must in Nuremberg!) !
Anyway, I will catch up with you later and I hope you will have a wonderful February even without my blog posts, haha.
Now I'm a really career girl, wish me luck!

P. S. this on repeat for the pauses from studying :).

Inspiration Monday.

One night President Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn’t too luxurious. When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the president’s secret service if he could please speak to the First Lady in private. They obliged and Michelle had a conversation with the owner. Following this conversation President Obama asked Michelle, “Why was he so interested in talking to you.” She mentioned that in her teenage years, he had been madly in love with her. President Obama then said, “So if you had married him, you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant,” to which Michelle responded, “No. If I had married him, he would now be the President.”

Unfortunetely (?) it's just an old anecdote, but it's pretty lovely :).
Have a beautiful week!

what I learned about Lithuania while staying in Germany.

You know, strange thing happened here, while staying in Germany. It may sound funny, but I learned a lot about Lithuania here. The thing is that being from a country, that nobody actually knows, where exactly that is, makes you feel like you are talking about the movie, that no one else has seen. You all should agree with me that it's way more easier for people, who are from well-known countries: you can say one word (that you won't be asked to repeat!), France, and that's it. The response, like Oh, Paris is so beautiful! or I love omelette du fromage! is guaranteed. But when you say Lithuania, it's like abracadabra - and everyone stops talking and stares at you with this poker face, when they pretend that they know, where that is, but at the same time they are scared, that you can ask them something about it.
For you to image it better, this is how the statistics would look like:

**** yeaaaaah.

I finally got my ticket back to Lithuania!!!! I'm so happy I can not tell!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a f*ck yeah kind of weekend, haha!!!

first help for face skin.

What is your secret to protect your face skin from pimples?
I always use tee tree oil which heals the skin immediately! It is quite expensive, but I usually buy this one little bottle in 3 months and it is very effective and, most important, natural (although the smell isn't that nice for me personally, so I don't use it, when I go out.).
Another cure that I have found recently is mentholatum balm. It is effective and natural as well (and smells like mint :) ).
What is the first help for your face skin? Do you prefer cosmetics or natural products?

P. S. Remember natural face mask for sunburnt skin?

Have you seen the movie Volver directed by Pedro Almodovar
It was one of the movies that everyone from my friends have watched it except me, so the time came to watch it for me as well.
And I really really loved it! The last movie directed by P. Almodovar that I've seen, All about my mother, and this one, Volver somehow connected in my mind. The role of the women is so strong in both movies. And here women's love, self-sacrifice and death are joint together.
My favorite scene was the one in the second photo, when Raimunda and her mother was sitting on the bench talking about the past. It was the moment of honesty, of releasing the past and I noticed a funny detail that the paintings behind are so bright and intense, like the background of the whole story, like the past that haunt both characters.
I really recommend you to watch it! Here's the trailer.
Brilliant!
There are always things undone. Or bad done. And my life has been no exception. Look, I don't know if I can fix them, but if I can, it's up to me to do it.

Good morning, my dears,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Me and other Erasmus students went to a football match, Deutsche Bundesliga, Nürnberg vs Berlin (2:0)!
To see football game in Germany live was my wish from the beginning! Actually I was also watching the game in the stadium for the first time in my life and I must say it is soooooo fun! (Not to mention the fact that it is the only place, where you can drink alcohol in public at a day time and no one will judge you, haha.)
Anyway, now I know I will definately go to the basketball game in Lithuania (as basketball is our religion)!
I promise I will share some photos during this week from the football match and as for now, I think this amazing video based on Dr. Seuss's final book will blow your mind!
My favorite part -

Except when you don't.
Because sometimes you won't.

So simple, but still we manage to forget.
That sometimes you don't.
Have a nice week,
xoxo

have a resolutionary weekend.

photo via Kitten Sneezes
It's official - 20 days past since it is 2012.
Remember my blog post about trying something new for 30 days?
I'm curious - are you still keeping your New Year's resolutions on track?
You have 10 days to go and then your resolution will probably stick to a habit!
As for me, I have just understood that all resolutions I made were connected to Lithuania, connected to my life there and I can only start them, when I will be back home.
So yesterday I just thought that is somehow wrong. It seems like my life will begin from scratch, when I will come back - and now I'm in a permanent stage, waiting for something to happen, something to begin later. Like in a cinema, watching the trailers before the real movie starts.
But the thing is - nothing happens if you don't give a chance something to happen, if you don't try to make it happen. Everything needs your effort, so why not use them to say to yourself that you must try something new, something you wouldn't have done before instead of complaining about your life or saying that you can not do it? It sounds easy, I know, though it isn't and that is the hardest part.
Think about one thing you are really scared to do, but you really want to (I mean not like bungee jumping, but like telling a good joke to the huge group of people that you do not know or kissing the person you really really like).
Now think about the worst scenario that could happen.
Ok, you fail.
Then what? You are probably embarrassed for couple of days, thinking "f*ck, I shouldn't have done it!! I'm just a f*cking idiot!!".
But what is the most important thing is that this is the way you learn to let it go.
You have to learn not to be mad on yourself because of trying.
Only trying can lead us to getting.
So now my new resolution here, in Nuremberg is to.. noooooooo, it's a secret :)!
Have a resolutionary weekend!

P. S. No, wait! I can show you one thing (so you don't think it's only words that I wrote..) I did yesterday although I was completely terrified to do it in such a public place!!
Remember when I told you about planking? So here's the stage-plank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went to a concert yesterday and we did this planking on the stage right after it ended! There was many people around watching us, so I felt kind of crazy because no one understood, what we were doing!
A big thank you for my lovely friend Lenka, who was completely amazing and did this planking with me and did not said a word that I'm perhaps a bit mad, haha!!!!! And of course, Daniel, who made the photo!!!
Although I felt really embarrassed at that moment, we look so funny in the picture that I'm absolutely glad we did it!!!!!!
Have a good (planking) weekend,
xoxo

13:50.

photo via Pinterest
Last Monday I heard such a funny thing on the lecture about the watches in advertisements.
The professor told us that all the watches in the advertisements usually show 10:10, 13:50 or something like that, because of the pointers in this way reminds a positive smiley. And there usually are no watches that show 16:40 (or something like that) because it would remind of a sad smile (unless the company don't want to sell it, haha!).
So I googled watch pictures and that's what I found! Isn't it funny?!
I have never noticed that!
Talking about watches, do you wear them? Which ones do you prefer?
I love colorful watches, like in the picture, it looks so cool! These Rolex watches for men are so nice as well! Although I don't have any colorful watch myself, I saw some adorable watches by Cacharel, like this one or this. And also I adore the watches with a cool design, like Calvin Klein watches, they look so solid, but stylish! Like this one, I love it!
Don't be late tomorrow, haha,

I love this painting by Janet Hill! The atmosphere, the colors, the natural look to the side, the lean to the wall - absolutely beautiful.
Other paintings by this author you can find here.

[..] let me come home.

As I was writing the post about Salzburg, I understood that I never really did posted some photos from Lithuania.
And now as I miss it so much, I have to share something I found on my computer.
This was the summer in 2010 when I went with my parents and my grandmother to the castles of Panemunė (for lithuanian readers some more information here or here).
It is a road by the major river in Lithuania Nemunas and there are some ruins of the castles and mounds you can visit on this route.
Actually, in these photos you can see no ruins, because, well, I was too busy admiring the nature :).
But the truth is, the nature there is just breath-taking! This is the real beauty of Lithuania, the greeness and the sky all around you!
This is my Lithuania, which I carry on with me in my heart :).

This can change your life.

[..] flooded with blood redness our hollow homes..

As today is a very important date for every Lithuanian, I want to share this wonderful Lithuanian song by Ieva Norkutė.
I found an English translation, the lyrics are just breathtaking, so I recommend you to get into them deeply. This melody somehow plays with our hearts and the only thing that is on my mind at that moment is my loveliest homeland.
I won't post any of historical facts - I think you will find it yourself if you are interested.
P. S. I'm really sorry of being lost this week, I promise next week I will catch up with you!

How was your weekend, my sweets?
I've read this amazing speech of Steve Jobs and it is so inspiring that I must share it!
This quote is just what I need to hear sometimes:
You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.
Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish, my darlings,

P. S. It is kind of strange that these last words were written in capital letters, it somehow makes these hungry and foolish respectful, don't you think?

how to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew?

photo via Jezebel
Recently I had a problem at home: I bought a bottle of wine, but I couldn't open it, because as I found out too late, my roommates don't have a wine corkscrew.
As I was sitting completely disapointed in my kitchen, I saw an umbrella hanging on a shelf and I remembered one evening when my sister and a friend of her opened the bottle of wine with.. yes, an umbrella!
It is really an amazing idea and it really works!
You just have to have a good tough umbrella, for example like in this photo and just push the cork into the bottle with the end of the umbrella while holding the bottle stable on the floor between your feet.
Voila!

have a delicious weekend.

Hello, my sweets,
what are you up to this weekend? As it is the last weekend of my holidays, I have to make something special for myself, like me and my lovely friend call it self treatment day.
On such a day you have to do some of the things that you really enjoy like reading a book, lighting up an amazing aroma candle in your room, drinking your favorite coffee, going for a walk, eating ice-cream, taking a long bath with your favorite bath-oil..
As for today, I know I will definately search for some sushi restaurant to eat, because I just love it and it's already the 4th month that I haven't eaten it! And I will definately speak with my camera with these two cuties that I miss so much:
And listen to this:
And I hope I won't be too lazy and I will go shopping and find a perfect new high-heel shoes! (Although this mission can end up like that, haha.)
Have a self treatment weekend!

just for a laugh.

 photo via Flicklr
Recently I watched this video (OMG! Jesus is right in front of me, haha :)) ) and I just can't get enough! This guy makes me laugh out loud everytime!
This is my favorite video, because honestly, my mother is always like that, like "Why didn't you do something?" and at such moments I'm really swearing inside like this guy - "Can't I just be stupid sometimes?? Can't it be that I'm just a fucking idiot?!", haha :))).
Anyway, a good doze of vitamin C!
Keep warm and joky,

[..] the seasons have changed from present to past.

Hello, my darlings,
as I mentioned before, last Thursday I unexpectedly went to Salzburg, Austria (as you probobly know, where Mozart was born) (and what a lovely name of the town! The castle of salt :) ) with some other Erasmus mates. I made tones of photos as the city is absolutely fabulous!
At the end I couldn't decide which photos to upload, I chose some, but still there are so many!
Still I hope you like it, take a little tour in Salzburg with me :) :

Today it is officialy the first Monday of 2012, so I wanted to show you something special.
This video by Jean-Sebastien Monzani is absolutely wondeful and the most inspiring thing I've ever seen!
Think of your secret.
Find your time to think of it everyday.
A good idea for the New Year's resolution as well!
